ABSTRACT

Adele Bates is an educator and advocator for inclusion in education and students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. With over 18 years' experience, Adele teaches these pupils in a variety of educational settings and also trains others to do so. In this chapter, Adele recounts how discovering her sexuality has been a journey, familiar to many, and the importance of bi-visibility, which is severely lacking in schools. This is the first of several chapters exploring this issue.
