ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book discusses a number of instances in the campaign where Donald J. Trump made misleading statements designed to undermine people’s perceptions and thus gain followers and support for his candidacy. It examines why Donald Trump’s enemies routinely refer to him as a fascist or even a Nazi. The book suggests that Trump’s slogan “Make America Great Again” symbolizes and embodies a fundamental and central aspect of his appeal to the nation. It describes how Trump’s policies are shaped by his marketing narcissistic personality. Trump’s self-esteem depends on how he is valued by significant others. Trump is described as a marketing narcissist, a gaslighter, a disruptive demagogue, and a person who makes many false and misleading statements. Each of these characteristics complement and illuminate each other. Donald Trump is the first demagogue to be elected President of the United States.
