ABSTRACT

This chapter will explore developments in relation to both the “human” and “ethics” in gen-ethics and consider the potential implications for posthuman thinking in this field: in other words, the ways in which a field which seems to be quintessentially “human-focused” can and must take account of the posthuman and move beyond anthropocentrism. This includes relationships with other species, the influence of “-omics” beyond genomics, and consideration of human and transhuman futures.
