ABSTRACT
Universal basic income (UBI) is a periodic cash payment, unconditionally delivered to all, on an individual basis, without means-test or work requirement. This chapter argues that the UBI guarantees a right to existence—providing dignity for all—and can be considered a new fundamental social right. UBI is then explored as a bridge between creativity and the future.
