ABSTRACT

This chapter draws on my poetic research on acculturation to illustrate how adopting a poetic orientation can help us nourish our journeys of academic discovery. The poetic orientation offers us an inspiring approach to expand our ideas and theoretical possibilities. This poetic light provides an intuitive visualisation of how a collective of affects emerges as academic writing, including atmospheres, people, objects, places, and theories. At the end of the chapter, I offer a set of suggestions to practice this poetic orientation individually or as part of a group of learners.
