ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book presents two very different examples of cities and how the design and management of physical space has led to greater community cohesion. It illustrates how, with the right incentives and motivations, diverse groups or cultures can be unified for the betterment of their wider environment. The book explores a more bottom-up approach to creating the unusual interactions and chance encounters within cities through the media of interactive technologies and film. It also explores particular nations and their cities that are already embracing the impact of the fourth industrial revolution and the digital innovations that are paving the way for their economic growth. The book reflects further on the environmental nature of the spaces of the city and how they can contribute to wellbeing which in turn contributes to strong communities.
