ABSTRACT
This chapter features a 2017 in-depth, face-to-face interview with Deltan Dallagnol, the person who has led the Lava Jato investigation in Brazil. So, what motivates this particular prosecutor and his team to deepen their investigation in the face of criticism? What moves them to go so far as to propose legal reforms aiming to curtail corruption? These are the underlying questions that the interview attempts to answer. Part II of this chapter reflects more recent early-September to mid-October 2019 email exchanges with Dallagnol about his perspective on issues raised by Vaza Jato.
