ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces the wide world of undergraduate research dissemination. It explores some of the tangible benefits of sharing our scholarly work. The chapter explains the important role of peer review in the process of knowledge-building, and outlines some specific dissemination opportunities available to undergraduates. Historians take pride in knowing that their research, when shared with others, contributes to building new knowledge. The chapter dials in on some of the benefits of special interest to undergraduates. One of the greatest concerns shared by undergraduate students and their families is what will happen after graduation. Among the most in-demand soft skills, according to employers, are effective oral and written communication. Peer review is the process whereby one's work is closely scrutinized by specialists in order to “certify the quality and reliability of research findings”.
