ABSTRACT
The fields revolving around the histories of women, gender, and sexuality are relative newcomers to the discipline, initially taking shape in the late 1960s and 1970s. This chapter discusses the fields of women's history and feminist history in the 1960s, and the related histories of gender and sexuality in subsequent decades. It traces the evolution of historical inquiry into women, gender, and sexuality. The chapter spotlights a few methodological aspects of special significance to these fields, and presents examples of interesting projects conducted by undergraduate researchers. Historians who focus on women, gender, or sexuality also present their work in published form. The chapter offers examples of real projects conducted by undergraduate researchers in history and presented before public audiences.
