ABSTRACT

This chapter collects data through field surveys and examines the role and constraints of various stakeholders engaged in the maize value chain in Pakistan. The key findings indicate that the capacity of the local seed companies needs to be built for the domestic production of the hybrid seed as it will help to reduce the price as currently mostly is imported. Second, the maize production is primarily concentrated in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces while there exists vast potential in Sindh and Balochistan provinces, which needs to be explored.
