ABSTRACT
This chapter assesses the agricultural performance, identifies the problems for agricultural development and underscores the importance of contract farming and value chain development in Nepal. It reviews the contract farming and value chain studies conducted in the country. It illustrates a case study of successful private poultry farm practicing contract farming in the country and provides policy implications for the promotion of commercial agriculture in the country.
