ABSTRACT
This case study uses vignette and conversation to illuminate gender at play in the world. Using the concept of gender hegemony, I demonstrate that dominant understandings of gender normalize inequity and are in service to machinations of supremacy. I share moments of resistance to gender norms, and demonstrate that through a disruption of their logics I can dodge (skirt, if you will) being subject to their power. I argue that although gender is a site of power, it is also a site of pleasure, resistance, and possibility.
