ABSTRACT

Knock, knock. Who’s there? Fetaui. Fetaui who? Fetaui let’s connect, huh? The Samoan definition of Fetaui factually is to meet or to connect. Within this chapter we will connect and ruminate with the Samoan living entity of the va (relational spaces in-between) and the multifaceted writing identities that are lived, witnessed, and continue to survive. The musings of va—relationality and identity—connect and percolate with education, skin and bodies. There are no more knock-knock references. You are now securely welcomed into this shared space. Be sure to pause and breathe when needed. Ia manuia (be blessed), Fetaui.
