ABSTRACT
The author presents a personal narrative on marriage and her work as a professor who uses poetry and personal writing to study and teach about close relationships. The use of narrative and poetry to talk about work and marriage shows the utility of this approach for studying and teaching identity, subjugated perspectives, and difficult experiences not easily talked about.
