It uses an inductive research design based on seven exploratory case studies of multinational companies. The chapter aims to understand how multinationals develop and implement their ethical tools in a context of cultural diversity. It sheds light on the “journey” of ethical tools and on their confrontation with the national cultures of the countries where they are established. The chapter seeks to Coding scheme (extract) better understand the opportunities and challenges created by the use of ethical tools by multinationals in culturally different countries. It provides a rather detailed description of the mechanisms by which ethical tools can be developed, disseminated, and implemented in the multinationals studied.
