ABSTRACT

Over the last three decades, physical literacy has been adopted as a worldwide social movement to support the long-term health and well-being of our children and young people (the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia, Asia, New Zealand and Canada). In this chapter, we explore the scale of the socio-cultural constraints that humans faced in the 2020s and seek to understand how contemporary pedagogical models can be used to develop meaningful movement enrichment experiences for children in play, physical activity and sport.
