ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at why Korea is invisible, unknown and unappreciated by pupils in England, why this must change and how it might be achieved. It shows that the current focus upon the curriculum in England provides an opportunity to encourage teachers to include more aspects of Korean history in their teaching. It explores the barriers to change but shows how such difficulties can be overcome by explaining how worthwhile comparisons can be made between Korea and England. Korean history has a rich seam of material, which makes for rewarding study. The time has arrived for pupils to study it.
