ABSTRACT

This chapter is about the praxis of weaving knowledge about ourselves, the people we work with and the contexts in which we work with the actions we collectively take in the world. It is about social and personal transformation woven together by walking the path. It is about joining thought with movement to throw off the chains holding back the promises of a more equitable world. The chapter offers critical reflections about the work required to walk the talk of the CCGHR Principles for Global Health Research. As women who share a connection to equity scholarship, we ground the critical reflections in this chapter in our shared desire to leverage the work we do in meaningful ways. We reflect on how each way of knowing can be supported by using the CCGHR Principles to guide the work of coming to know (about ourselves, others, the world and the work of advancing equity). This chapter invites readers into a lifelong commitment to learning, growing and leaning into equity work with curiosity, passion and hope for a more beautiful, equitable future.
