ABSTRACT

This final essay considers the contributions of the essays in the volume with respect to the theoretical combination of feminist new materialisms and care ethics and their applications to pedagogy in higher education. The essay revolves around the issue whether readers will be impatient with some of the essays. To do so, the chapter considers why scholars, teachers, students and higher education institutions might become impatient with this approach. In the end, though, the chapter argues that in order to be responsible, one needs also to be response-able. Responsibility requires power, but also that those who use power are response-able to those in need. What such practices look like has been demonstrated by the essays in this volume.
