Reconstructing the chronology of Lake Bonneville: an historical review

This place, which we named Llano Salado, because we found some thin white shells there, seems to have once had a much larger lake than the present one. We observed the latitude and found it to be 39° 34’ 36” (in the diary of Silvestre Veléz de Escalante, under the date October 2, 1776).
