ABSTRACT

This contribution exemplifies how a facilitated collaboration between students and actors in a specific sector in Greenland can be used to initiate a development, which can procure scientific research in the long term. A project entitled “North Atlantic Law Programme”, which Aalborg University started in 2011, serves as an example. The project was initiated to increase the number of lawyers with a Greenlandic background. The goal was simultaneously to create better knowledge of the applicable law in Greenland and, in the long term, to contribute to the development of jurisprudential research in Greenlandic law. This chapter offers a description of the cooperation and the achieved experiences in the period 2011‒18.
