A Rationale of Āryabhata I's Method for Solving ax+c=by

Indian mathematician Āryabhata I (ad 476) perhaps used the method of continued fraction to find out the integral solution of indeterminate equation of the type by=ax+c. Here, we present the original Sanskrit verses (in Roman character) from Āryabhata’s “Aryabhatiya” in English translation with modern interpretation.
