ABSTRACT
In recent years, Glagoljica in Croatia and, to a lesser extent, Bosančica and Arebica in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been rediscovered and reintroduced as a means of communication in different text genres. Although they are not used on the level of the official Latin script, different stakeholders have sought to extend merely the symbolic function of those scripts. The goal of this chapter is to discuss whether the reemergence of the three old scripts can be defined as revitalization by focusing on contemporary domains of usage, their socio-cultural status, and corpus and acquisition planning. Our study is based on field research conducted in January 2018 in Croatia and in August 2018 in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
