ABSTRACT

This chapter conceptualizes de-pathologizing the kink of rape fantasy for the Black Superwoman archetype. The intersections of racism, classism, sexism, sizeism, texturism, and colorism are experienced by Black women from birth and thus can affect their sexual pleasure and development. Existing in a culture of power meant to oppress, Black women are trained to become Superwoman and accrue as much power as possible, which is often defined by colonial and capitalistic standards. This chapter examines the manifestation of how forced power use can be alluring in fantasy to ultimately create a haven for the expression of pleasure. Through theories such as Black Feminist Thought, expanded Intersectionality, and Sociohistorical-Cultural Perspective, the chapter aims to challenge consumers’ conceptualization of Black women’s sexual pleasure to create pathways to safer exploration, understanding, healing, and ultimately pleasure.
