ABSTRACT

Through the conceptual lens of resourcefulness, the authors look into aspect of social entrepreneurship in resource-constrained environments. In the following section, the authors briefly look at the social entrepreneurship presence of social innovation in the literature. Due to the limited knowledge of social innovation in resource-constrained environments, the authors draw on the literature of resourcefulness and follow a qualitative single case study approach. With respect to the literature of social entrepreneurship and social innovation, the significance of resourcefulness in resource-constrained environments cannot be undermined, and this has further inculcated the opportunities and presented important insights. The community resourcefulness can consist of connections, knowledge and other resources that also facilitate the social innovation process for social entrepreneurs. Exchanges are seen between the personal and community resourcefulness, in both directions, that further amplify each other to attain the social benefit, particularly in resource-constrained environments.
