Historical accounts and emotions contexts of opera in Australia since colonisation

Presenting an overview of the history of opera in Australia, this chapter focuses particularly on significant items that are not otherwise covered in any depth in the chapters that follow, such as notable figures, Indigenous artists, and the Sydney Opera House. We then consider the ways in which emotions were thought about in the long nineteenth century, applying these theories to the Australian context.
