ABSTRACT

Michael Fisher reflects here on how his use of positional maps to originally explore disputes over the possible over-diagnosis as well as under-diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the U.S. military has expanded in the context of COVID-19. He considers his use of Situational Analysis with Grounded Theory, which allowed him to developed “politicized prevalence.” He offers insights into how working with maps allowed him to have analytic breakthroughs in his interpretation of research materials.
