What have we learned about emotions through Antipodean opera contexts?

This concluding chapter draws threads relating to emotions from the two volumes of Opera, Emotion, and the Antipodes to summarise what the collection has contributed to scholarly understandings of emotion, including the application of history of emotion concepts. The editors also highlight the ways in which studies that place opera at the centre of their research are uniquely poised to make such contributions.
