ABSTRACT
Robert F. Bornstein describes how he did not intend to become a psychologist, but circumstances moved him in that direction, and it worked out well. In this chapter, he traces his personal and professional growth, the people and events that have shaped his life so far, and his contributions to psychology, and personality assessment. He believes that psychologists work too narrowly and specialize too much, and they should spend more time interacting with people whose views and values differ from our own.
