ABSTRACT
This chapter champions quiet activism within the field of performance-making and HIV by exploring cultural representations of women living well with HIV in the UK. Low contextualises the argument for women-focused performance in response to HIV, against a background of existing and historical practice. The need for quiet activism is articulated through Low’s experience of co-creating artistic work with women from Positively UK, a national peer-support and advocacy charity supporting individuals living with HIV.
