ABSTRACT

Rally Against Measles is a series of street art interventions delivered in 2019 and 2020 as a collaboration between Clown Me In (CMI), a Lebanese clowning and street performance theatre company and UNICEF Lebanon. The project aimed to raise awareness of measles and advocate for vaccination in support of the national measles vaccination campaign. The rally, which reached different communities across six locations in Lebanon, represents an example of how performances and arts-based approaches can be used as novel, fun and educative modes of community participation in health promotion initiatives. This snapshot presents the rally and provides insights on its creative process, development and implementation through various activities and performances.
