ABSTRACT

In employing individual or person-centred experiential learning opportunities through a competencies framework with an Aokian lens, the processes could offer opportunities of growth and self-determined learning for students to make their own path to change. In this chapter, Aoki's bridge metaphor serves as a helpful focal point when creating connections between sustainability learning and leadership and Aoki's perspectives on curriculum and praxis. The chapter explores how to visualize the connections between sustainability concepts and primary aspects using Aoki's paradigm of situational praxis for transformative learning. It uses Aoki's perspectives and bridge metaphor to visualize and explore connections to transformative sustainability learning. The chapter offers this conceptualization here in hopes that it may also be useful to others in developing their own praxis in their own fields of study.
