ABSTRACT

In my organization, being a digital producer means doing little bit of everything: we edit stories and optimize them for digital publication; write engaging headlines; manage our newspapers’ websites and social media feeds; help produce video and audio reporting; identify trending topics to cover; and even write breaking news stories, among many other duties. Crucially, we’re usually the last stop a story makes in the newsroom before it goes out into the wider world, so we need to be advocates for our audience.
