ABSTRACT
Producers are often tasked with creating infographics to accompany reporters’ stories online, with good reason. Studies have found infographics are an effective way to attract and keep an audience. This chapter examines the science behind data visualization, along with ways producers can mine stories for infographic material. It features suggested tools to create user-friendly and appealing infographics using web and application-based programs including Canva, Infogram, and Adobe Spark Post as well as Datawrapper for creating interactive maps, charts, and tables.
