ABSTRACT

Surveys of hybrid course faculty were conducted in 2016 and 2019 to identify highly effective blended teaching practices from the instructor perspective. Survey participants were asked about their use of effective blended teaching practices identified from the literature, then asked to rate the effectiveness of each practice they used. Across both surveys, over two-thirds of the faculty rated 11 teaching practices as highly effective. Also, four-fifths of the faculty reported that blended teaching had changed their teaching practices in other courses, citing improved course organization, greater use of active learning, and better integration of classroom and online learning.
