ABSTRACT

It is said that a crisis is a terrible thing to waste. The COVID-19 pandemic has not only changed us as individuals, but it has also made us more resilient. Similarly, it is forcing organizations to adapt to new circumstances, to think differently, to act more decisively, look for new opportunities, try new approaches, and ultimately survive. In other words, it is forcing us to innovate. Using Museum Computer Network (MCN), and other museum associations as examples, this chapter examines the ways in which the pandemic has disrupted the business model of many museum professional organizations and what the future holds for them.
