ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of U.S. health disparities and examines the links between language, power, and health outcomes. We discuss different views on the relationship between language and health equity that broaden our understanding of the scope of disparities affecting linguistically minoritized communities and the range of solutions that need contributions from applied linguists.
