ABSTRACT

There are more people on the move today than at any point in human history. This reality has profound implications for both law and Christianity. This introductory chapter discusses the impact on law and Christianity of what Stephen Castles, Hein de Haas, and Mark J. Miller have called the “age of migration.” The chapter then discusses how, in the age of migration, the law of migration is increasingly relevant for scholarship on Christian theology, while Christian theology is increasingly relevant for scholarship on the law of migration. The chapter concludes by examining the possibilities and potential for cross-disciplinary dialogue as exemplified by the contributions to Christianity and the Law of Migration.
