ABSTRACT
This chapter interrogates how silencing in scientific communication can go unexamined. Using a Black feminist framework, I present two ways that silencing in science communication occurs. Specifically focusing how on systemically marginalized groups experience testimonial quieting while some experts in science communication self-censor, I critique the discipline and enterprise of scholarship of scientific communication as interrelated and interdependent on practice and pedagogy.
