ABSTRACT

The basic thrust of this chapter is to explore the way media and technology can be integrated into teaching practice to enhance understanding and enjoyment of literature. The aspects addressed are new demands on pedagogy; the use of inter-modal practices to make teaching and learning more interactive and engaging for the teacher and the learner; and sociology of literature in contemporary times. It also proposes intermediality as a useful method to make translation an explorative and shared endeavor for both the translator and the reader. The chapter argues that inter-modal translations extend horizons of appreciation and reception.
