ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the characteristics in aspects of politics, social, economic, and human rights that have contributed to strengthen during these 100 years the current state of Costa Rica, and has generated a leadership in the Latin American region, positioning itself in this region with the main indicators of global competitiveness, followed by Chile, where the main Costa Rican characteristic of the different democratic governments that are presented in these 100 years of analysis of actions carried out in the country, is the strengthening of the Costa Rican cooperative model, which has contributed to the territorial economic, social, environmental, and technological development of the Costa Rican inhabitants. This compilation of political management actions to be taken constitutes an input of democratic strategic information of an economic, social, environmental, cooperative, and technological nature to be followed. It constitutes a guide of actions that promote current models of sustainable economy and contributes to promote the Social Progress Index and other indicators that measure the impact of political actions as a consequence of improving the quality of life of people.
