ABSTRACT

Classroom applications of behavior analysis have been regularly displayed in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis since its inception in 1968. Subsequently, these applications have been widely examined, discussed, and criticized both within and without the general area of applied behavioral science. This reaction is, of course, a desirable outcome of the publication and attests to the functional utility of the Journal In fact, the original editorial statement (Baer, Wolf, & Risley, 1968) not only hoped for widespread examination of behavioral applications but “… their refinement, and eventually their replacement by better applications” [p. 91].
