ABSTRACT
This essay is about a renaissance of the Dionysian in the Anthropocene. With the new conception of the earth, the Gaia hypothesis, our planet moves to the centre as an actor and quasi-subject. An ecological theatre is located on the border that runs between the planetary and the social, analogous to the site of tragedy in ancient Greece between the powers of nature and the polis.
