ABSTRACT
On January 14, 2020, at 5 a.m., 1 the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office arrived at 2928 Magnolia Street in West Oakland, California, in riot gear with automatic rifles and armored vehicles to evict the homeless mothers who had been occupying the house. It was a heavily militarized operation that rattled elected officials who had previously remained silent about Moms for Housing.
