Can Physics Explain Physics? Anthropic Principles and Transcendental Idealism

Because the Standard Models of cosmology and particle physics cannot explain the existence of physics itself as a natural science, physics is explanatorily incomplete. I argue that only if a moderate Anthropic Principle equivalent to a suitably weak version of Kant’s metaphysics of transcendental idealism is added to the Standard Models can physics explain itself and thereby complete itself to that extent.
