ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the Clinical Reasoning in Action Model (RAM), a data-based model developed to help clinicians use multiple frames of reference when organizing the evaluation data. The RAM includes four steps intended to assist clinical reasoning: gathering information; identifying difficulties and barriers affecting participation and functional performance; choosing the best evidence to support intervention strategies; and identifying outcome measures. Each step is illustrated with figures, tables, and examples from a case study. The theory of sensory integration serves as the pillar in this chapter, setting the backdrop for part two of the book: diagnoses.
