ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the results of the Bouverie Centre’s SST Waitlist Pilot Project and shares learnings about the impact of one-off sessions on waitlist management. The chapter considers the rationale for waitlist interventions, and reports results from a study contrasting session attendance for families in the pilot one-off group with other families who immediately preceded the pilot. Discussion highlights the potential for one-off sessions in successfully supporting waitlist management, and offering timely and effective supports for families experiencing complex mental health issues and relational trauma. The one-off approach was helpful to both the family in therapy and to the therapist.
