ABSTRACT

For the past six years, the author has been running a meet-up group in London from a CBT perspective. A typical group lasts two hours and includes him giving a lecture on a psychological theme and two single sessions where he works with people from the audience who seek help for problems related to the theme of the lecture. In this chapter, the author presents data on the themes raised by volunteer clients, outlines how he tends to work in these sessions, and provides a clinical illustration via transcript excerpts.
