ABSTRACT
An account is provided of the process undertaken to make SSFC appropriate to the Aotearoa New Zealand cultural context. Emphasis is given to the importance of step-by-step involvement of indigenous (Māori and Pasifica) peoples, including attending to feedback and traditional social and ceremonial structures and recognition of the collectivistic links between individual-family-community well-being.
