ABSTRACT

The authors, both long-time staff at The Bouverie Centre in Melbourne, have been providing, researching, and teaching SST since 1994. They describe what has made single session thinking appealing to clients as well as to therapists and other practitioners: It invites clients to have a significant voice in what they need, and when they want it. In addition to being both respectful and practical, they also note that it is efficient and effective, which managers (as well as clients and therapists) love. The authors use a case example with commentary to illustrate a typical Bouverie single session process.
